Longhao Company has also obtained ISO 9001:2008 international quality management system certification and ISO 14001:2004 environmental management system certification; its insecticidal lamp products have been rigorously tested and certified as compliant by the National Plant Protection Machinery Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and the Zhejiang Fangyuan Testing Group. In particular, the company’s professionally produced GP-LH18B model solar-powered, frequency-vibration, broad-spectrum agricultural and forestry insecticidal lamp was included in the nation’s first “Catalogue of Agricultural Machinery Products Supported and Promoted by the State for 2009–2011,” and currently seven of the company’s products are eligible for national subsidies on the purchase of agricultural machinery. The frequency-vibration insecticidal lamp has been recognized as a key recommended product by the Shanghai Municipal Agricultural Technology Extension Center from 2008 to 2010. The GP-LH18A model, a self-cleaning, fully automatic, spectrum-specific agricultural insecticidal lamp, was designated as a national-level Spark Program project in 2004. The company has an in-house R&D center, and its self-cleaning, fully automatic insecticidal lamps have been evaluated by the provincial science and technology department as representing a leading technological level within the domestic industry. The self-cleaning insecticidal lamp has secured one national invention patent, one invention patent for moth traps, one invention patent for high-voltage grid insecticidal lamps, eight utility model patents, and three design patents. The company boasts strong technical expertise, state-of-the-art equipment, sophisticated manufacturing processes, comprehensive testing facilities, and a robust quality assurance system. The Longhao frequency-vibration insecticidal lamp is among the earliest successfully developed frequency-vibration models in China and has made significant contributions to pest control in agriculture and forestry as well as to ecological conservation nationwide. It has been widely adopted in the cultivation of vegetables, cotton, tea, and other crops, reducing pesticide use, mitigating environmental pollution, and playing a major role in integrated pest management. To date, more than 200,000 units have been promoted and sold across over twenty provinces, including Hunan, Shanghai, Guangxi, Shandong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, and Hainan. Notably, the successful development of solar-powered insecticidal lamps has relied entirely on applied technologies from Fudan University in Shanghai, Zhejiang University, and other institutions, ensuring cutting-edge performance both domestically and internationally. With reliable performance and competitive pricing, these products have been distributed to vast agricultural regions throughout China. In recent years, the Longhao frequency-vibration insecticidal lamp series has continued to expand its applications to various economic forest areas, flower nurseries, urban landscaping, and protected cultivation, emerging as an economical, effective, simple, safe, and reliable measure for integrated pest management that has been widely welcomed across different regions. The economic, ecological, and social benefits are highly significant. The relevant application technologies are described below:
I. Product Features
Research, development, and application of light-based pest-control technologies have been underway both domestically and internationally for several decades. However, as demands for more effective pest control have grown, the performance of most existing products has fallen short of expectations. The Longhao high-frequency vibration insecticidal lamp series integrates light, wavelength, color, and odor into a single device, enabling safe, round-the-clock operation in open-field settings. It overcomes the shortcomings of incandescent lamps and high-pressure black-light lamps—namely, poor efficacy, significant adverse impacts on natural enemies, and safety concerns—and delivers markedly superior performance in practical applications at a higher overall cost-effectiveness. Owing to its advanced design and practical utility at home and abroad, this product has been designated by the promotion agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Forestry as a preferred option for integrated pest management, marking a groundbreaking advancement in the use of light-based physical methods for pest control within integrated pest-management strategies. The following section provides an overview of the application techniques for this product series.
II. Scope of Application
1. Suitable for landscaping and green space maintenance in residential areas, as well as for the control of sanitary pests and the eradication of pests affecting various crops such as vegetables, fruit trees, tea gardens, and forested land. Any nocturnal, light-attracted pests will be attracted to the lamp and subsequently killed by the high-voltage electric shock. It also serves to monitor pest population dynamics and infestation patterns.
2. For crops grown in contiguous blocks or over large areas, the insect-attracting effect is even more pronounced: on average, one lamp per 60 mu can effectively control and reduce pest damage. This is especially true for various vegetable fields, fruit orchards, tea gardens, water bamboo paddies, and Chinese walnut groves, where pest populations are high and damage is severe. In crops that require frequent pesticide applications, the widespread use of insecticidal lamps can significantly reduce the number of adult pests, thereby decreasing their egg-laying capacity. Typically, this approach allows farmers to cut pesticide applications by two to three times, directly reducing the overall use of chemical pesticides and helping to lower pesticide residues in agricultural products while promoting the production of safe food.
3. According to data from the agricultural and forestry departments of more than 50 counties in Hangzhou, Jinhua, Wenzhou, Cixi, Lin’an and other cities and counties in Zhejiang Province over the past decade—covering nearly 20,000 units of this technology in widespread use—wherever it is deployed on a contiguous, large-scale basis, the incidence of pest infestations is markedly reduced. Moreover, the equipment is easy to operate and maintain, boasts excellent safety performance, and incurs low electricity costs (approximately 0.3 kWh per day). The collected insect biomass can be used as feed for poultry and fish; therefore, large-scale deployment near fish ponds and poultry farms further enhances economic returns, while the price and operating costs are generally affordable for farmers.
III. Precautions
1. The Longhao high-frequency vibrating insecticidal lamp is a device for controlling insect pests, with outstanding performance; effective management is essential to ensure its efficacy, and extending its service life is the key to successful promotion and application.
2. The Longhao high-frequency vibrating insecticidal lamp is a physical control measure for integrated pest management; its efficacy is further enhanced when used across contiguous areas and on a continuous basis.
3. During installation, ensure that the power supply is stable; otherwise, the service life may be affected.
